Fast aesthetic transformation with minimal preparation

Composite Bonding

Overview

Composite bonding is a conservative, cost-effective aesthetic treatment in which composite material is layered onto the tooth surface with no or minimal enamel reduction. It is usually completed in a single session.

It delivers excellent results for closing gaps (diastema), repairing chipped or cracked teeth, lengthening short teeth and correcting mild shape or colour irregularities. It is a faster, more affordable and less invasive alternative to porcelain veneers.

At Klinik Dental we use nano-hybrid composites that closely mimic the translucency and fluorescence of natural enamel. The dentist sculpts the material in layers, cures it with a special LED light and finishes it with discs and rubber points to a mirror-like polish.

A major advantage is reversibility: if you later choose a more permanent treatment such as porcelain veneers or crowns, the underlying tooth structure is preserved.

Benefits

  • Fast, single-visit result
  • Little or no tooth preparation
  • More affordable than porcelain veneers
  • Reversible, tooth-preserving approach
  • Ideal for chips and gaps
  • Natural look with nano-hybrid composites

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does composite bonding last?

With good care and regular polishing, 5–8 years comfortably. After that, refurbishment or polishing extends its lifespan.

Does it stain?

Composite is slightly more porous than porcelain, so mild discolouration may occur over time. Regular cleaning and polishing keep this to a minimum.

When is a porcelain veneer a better choice?

For severe discolouration, large shape corrections or full smile transformations, E-max veneers deliver a more stable, longer-lasting result. Bonding is ideal for smaller corrections.

Is it done in one session?

In most cases, yes. It takes about 30–60 minutes per tooth and is completed in the same visit; additional appointments are rarely needed.
